Contact Improvisation with Rosemary Hannon

This series of classes will focus on:

  • using biomechanical principles to create a greater range and freedom in moving in/out of weight sharing 
  • increasing readiness for rolling, surfing, falling and flying through body organization and movement patterning
  • listening to touch/sensation as inspiration for improvisation

Rosemary Hannon is a Bay Area performer, choreographer, and teacher. She has been teaching Contact Improvisation since her first collaboration with Vitali Kononov in 2004 at the American Dance Festival. She has since taught CI at festivals including the West Coast Contact Improvisation Festival and Jam, the Sierra Contact Festival and the Seattle Festival of Dance Improvisation. She has taught CI locally at CounterPULSE, ODC School, Eighth Street Studios, and the Finnish Hall as well as at colleges and jams outside of the Bay Area. She is currently growing her teaching practice as an Axis Syllabus teacher-candidate.
