Fusion Bellydance Ismaaouni — Performance Workshop with Jill Parker & Maite Gasco (All levels)
Saturdays
March 14 and 28, April 4: 1:45-4:15pm
April 11 and 18, May 30, June 6: 1:45-3:15pm
Join Jill Parker and Maite Gasco for an exhilarating performance workshop where you’ll learn and perform an original choreography by Jill, set to “Ismaaouni” by Musicians of the Nile. This folky, high-energy instrumental is lively, driving, and irresistibly fun—perfect fuel for a piece that’s meant to move.
The choreography is a homage to Jill’s early dance inspiration, Hahbi’Ru, featuring line formations and an earthy, village-style folk feel. The vibe carries echoes of the Northern California Renaissance Faire of the 1990s—themselves inspired by the wild, groovy, and earthy Renaissance faire bellydance scene of the late 1960s and ’70s. Jill weaves this lineage into the choreography and infuses it with her trademark sensuous, gooey goodness, sharp musicality, and a touch of cheekiness. The result is a piece that’s rich in texture, deeply rooted, and an absolute blast to perform.
This performance workshop offers participants a rare glimpse into the inner workings of a professional dance company. Open to students of all levels, the experience is designed to support meaningful growth through focused rehearsal, consistency, and shared commitment. Expect to bring your full attention to each session, practice regularly, and submit occasional videos to track your progress. Jill’s workshop includes video tutorials and homework assignments between live sessions to support your learning.
You’ll be part of a supportive, collaborative community where dancers share insights, refine their skills, and rise together. Jill and Maite foster a warm, encouraging environment where students work hard, challenge themselves, and enjoy the process—growing both individually and as a group

In this workshop, we will make a dance together! Dancers will create movement using specific choreographic tasks designed to break you out of your habits. We will work on dancing cleanly, beautifully, and efficiently- alone and in groups. We will increase our flow, musicality, and performance energy. We will have a relationship with space, and each other, and (hopefully) we’ll have a good time as well!
This workshop is great for any dancer wanting to deepen their practice. It is geared towards intermediate dancers, but all are welcome. This is a great place for any dancer looking to push themselves and experience the joys of dancing with others!
Tap with Vanessa Sanchez
Thursdays, 6:45-8:15pm
April 16-June 4, 2026

Choreographer Vanessa Sanchez will create a percussive performance piece rooted in Tap Dance, with elements of traditional Son Jarocho foot work (form Veracruz, Mexico), centering Afro-Cuban rhythms as both the score and inspiration for original tap choreography. The development of the choreography will draw heavily on the skills of workshop participants, incorporating polyrhythmic sequences (layering different footwork patterns at the same time) and highlighting our feet as instruments. Open to dancers with a range of technique levels, leaning toward advanced beginner to intermediate level tap dancers, performers will be part of a new, rhythm-driven piece that uses our feet, hands and body to tell a percussive story.
Dancers must be able to do the following steps: Shuffle ball change, flap heel, cramp roll, Paddle & Roll (paradiddle), single time step.
All ticket sales are final. Performances, dancers, and guest artists subject to change.
