Gala Night Program
World premiere excerpt from After the Deluge (Brenda Way)
Excerpt from Collision Collapse and a Coda (Brenda Way) with live accompaniment from Eclecta Quartet
Something About a Nightingale (Brenda Way)
Unintended Consequences (Brenda Way)
Excerpts from Part of a Longer Story (Brenda Way) with live accompaniment from Eclecta Quartet featuring clarinetist Carlos Ortega.
The inclusion of live musicians was inspired by ODC/Dance’s recent collaboration with these same musicians for Mercury Soul at Gray Area, an event produced by Grammy-winning composer Mason Bates. The energy between the dancers and musicians was electric! A perfect spirit for the Gala evening and a wonderful way to celebrate coming together as a performing arts community.
The live musical performances for the Gala evening are generously underwritten by Ross Uchimura, Sean Dowdall and David Landis.
