Carolyn Goor Hutchinson teaches Musical Theater Dance class using original Broadway choreography from old standards to contemporary shows and movie musicals. The warm up moves through many styles of dance and moves on to choreography of the week from Fosse, Robbins, DeMille and choreographers of the past to Sonya Tayeh and Andy Blankenbuehler (of Hamilton fame) of the present. Carolyn performed in Pennsylvania Ballet before working with Twyla Tharp (Singin’ In the Rain) and dancing over 100 roles in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway. She performed in “A Little Night Music,” “On Second Avenue,” “Oklahoma!” “Gypsy,” “42nd St.” “Peter Pan,” & “My Fair Lady.” She has taught for Eliot Feld, Ballet Hispanico, & the Eugene O’Neill Theater in NY and worked with SF Arts Ed, SOTA and Dance for People with Parkinson’s. Carolyn also sings as a Cantorial Soloist. Students say: “So much fun! Carolyn is enthusiastic and passionate about sharing her experience while teaching us how to be Broadway Stars! She goes above and beyond by giving us additional background and exposing us to the best parts of musical theater!”
