Christopher Lam was born in Brisbane, Australia. A recipient of the prestigious Graeme Murphy scholarship, he trained with Betsy Sawyers before studying at the Australian Ballet School. Upon graduation he was taken into the ranks of the Australian Ballet where he danced the full length classical works, training with teachers such as Gelsey Kirkland, Violette Verdi, Sonia Arova and Johnny Eliasen. He moved on to dance in European companies, performing in pieces by Nacho Duato, Jiri Kylian, Ohad Naharin, John Neumeier, William Forsythe and Jean-Christophe Maillot. Since retiring from the stage, Christopher has taught dance in Europe, Australia and the United States, whilst staging works for schools and youth companies. He enjoys sharing the knowledge acquired on this wonderful journey and is inspired by all those who allow themselves to be touched by the art form.
