Getting to ODC Theater

Things to know

  • When should I arrive?

Unless stated otherwise, ODC Theater is a general seating venue. We encourage you to arrive 30 minutes prior to the performance start time to ensure you secure your preferred seats.

  • At what age is it appropriate to bring a child to an ODC performance?

Audiences of all ages are welcome at The Velveteen Rabbit and ODC School student showcases. All attendees must have a ticket regardless of age. Most other ODC/Dance and ODC Theater performances are best suited for adults or older children. Some performances may include mature content; please see individual ticket pages for more information.

  • Can I record or take photos during a performance?

Audio, photo, and video recording of any kind is not allowed unless explicitly authorized by ODC Theater. We appreciate your cooperation in respecting the artists and their work. A few weeks after the run, selected performances will be available virtually through ODC Connect.

  • Can I bring my pet?

We ask that you leave your pets and Emotional Support Animals at home. Only service animals, as defined by the ADA, are permitted. Please select “service animal” during ticketing checkout when prompted to share accessibility needs.

  • Is smoking or vaping allowed?

No. Smoking, vaping, and the use of e-cigarettes are not allowed anywhere inside the theater or on its premises.

  • Do you offer concessions?

We offer beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages for sale only during selected shows at ODC Theater. Please refer to the Know Before You Go email which will be sent 24 hours prior to showtime–if they are not offered, we encourage folks to visit our recommended restaurants and bars above!

Drinks and light bites are available for all shows at YBCA.

  • What should I do if I have accessibility needs and/or questions?

ODC is ADA Accessible. Additional wheelchair seating is provided for select shows. ODC Theater seats are 17 inches wide. Getting to second floor studios in the ODC Dance Commons and ODC Theater involves riding an elevator or climbing one flight of stairs. The majority of the ODC Annex is carpeted. ODC Theater and ODC Annex restrooms are All-Gender, and in the ODC Dance Commons, All-Gender restrooms are located on the second floor. Please see individual event pages for more information.

Please contact the ODC Box Office with accessibility requests and questions, or if you need any assistance: boxoffice@odc.dance | 415-549-8534

ODC Box Office

  • When does the box office open?

The Box Office is open one hour before showtimes. You can also email us at boxoffice@odc.dance or leave a voicemail at 415-549-8534.

  • I want to bring a group! Are there any discounts?

We offer group discounts for most ODC-presented and produced performances. For more information, please see individual ticket pages or contact us via email.

  • Do I have to print my ticket?

If you choose to have your tickets emailed, you can either print them or have them ready to display on your phone. Will Call tickets can be picked up at the Box Office.

  • I purchased a ticket but can no longer attend. What are my options?

All sales are final. We are happy to exchange your ticket to another performance of the same production if available ticket inventory exists. You are also welcome to give your ticket to someone you know or convert it into a tax-deductible donation to ODC.

  • How do waitlists work?

In the event of a sold-out performance, you may join the waitlist by checking in with the Box Office up to 30 minutes before curtain. Being on the waitlist does not guarantee ticket availability. Seats will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on remaining capacity. The Box Office will begin distributing any unclaimed tickets five minutes before the show.

Waitlisted patrons should expect to pay the full price for a General Admission ticket unless eligible for a discount or alternative options are provided. If the show is sold out and you have not arrived by the start time, your ticket may be released and resold to those on the waitlist. In such cases, we will gladly offer an exchange or other accommodations.

  • What is your late seating policy?

Late seating policy varies depending on the show. While we will always do our best to accommodate late arrivals, we cannot guarantee that you will be seated after the show starts. In that case, you will be offered to exchange your tickets for a different day of the same production. Late patrons are seated by the house managers at their discretion.
