About Young Creative Classes
- Little Rabbits (Ages 2-4)
Little Rabbits is a class designed to give our youngest students their first exposure to the dance studio. Kids are encouraged to explore movement in a fun, creative and supportive environment. Little Rabbits offers a joyful experience in which caregivers enjoy music and play alongside their children.
- Morning Moves (Ages 3-4)
Blending movement, music, and rhythm, this class introduces students to creative dance. Students develop coordination and confidence by expressing themselves in new ways, and begin to learn how to take direction within the context of a dance class.
- Junior Contemporary Movers (Ages 4-6)
Junior Ballet Movers (Ages 4-6) Students build on existing skills and are introduced to the basics of contemporary and ballet dance forms. Taught by professionals in either contemporary or ballet, students experience creative learning through working in groups, rhythm and musicality training, and the sheer joy of dance. These classes prepare the student for future dance technique training while engaging the individual and igniting the creative process.
- Kid Dance (Ages 6-7)*
Basic motor skills of the student (walking, jumping, skipping, stillness, and gesture) are expanded upon in this class to emphasize rhythm, spatial awareness, movement quality, moving to music, and dancing in groups. Kid Dance lays the foundation for future technique classes, while further immersing students in a dynamic dance experience.
- Welcome to Hip Hop (Ages 6-7)*
This high-energy class will fuse hip hop and creative movement while exposing the student to dance fundamentals: rhythm, musicality, spatial awareness, coordination, ensemble spirit, and the unique attitude of the hip hop dance form. *In the Spring Session, these classes culminate in the May Showcase, May 4-5, 2024, or in a Parent Observation Day at the end of the session.
