The ODC School Audition Series brings dancers and choreographers together in a class context. Dancers may use class cards or pay a $15 drop-in fee ($1 cash discount). Come early to fill out information forms.
The Caroline Liviakis Dance Company (CLDC) is quickly becoming one of the more provocative, yet relatable dance companies in San Francisco. Caroline’s mission as Artistic Director is to innovate the use of theatricality in technical dance, create thought-provoking work that is simultaneously fun and entertaining, develop a new technique and aesthetic that draws from both commercial and concert styles, and inspire enthusiastic involvement in live dance performance from untapped audiences.
In May 2018 the CLDC presented the world premier of its evening length debut work: There’s A New Kid In Town to completely sold out audiences. The performance received featured coverage by the Marin IJ, Skyline View, The Ark, BayAreaDanceWatch, and was chosen as a ‘critics pick’ for the San Francisco Chronicle.
CLDC is looking for dancers for the following projects:
Encore performance of There’s A New Kid In Town (October 20, 2018--LEVYdance Studio)
Dance film for submission to dance film festivals in San Francisco and Los Angeles
Evening-length work: The Potential (performance expected to be in March 2019--still TBD).
Various collegiate, showcase, and festival guest artist appearances
What the CLDC is looking for:
Captivating performers: those with commanding stage presence and those who can use facial expressions while dancing
Dancers with high technical skill and precision who have an expansive range of style capabilities (especially contemporary, hip-hop, modern, musical theater, and ballet).
Dancers who are regularly available nearly all day Sundays, who have flexible schedules, and who are ok with varying rehearsal times and days.
2-6 females, ages 16-40.
Company dancers and company mentees (company dancers are paid project/performance stipends.)
