David Harvey and Babatunji: Chimera

David Harvey and Babatunji: Chimera

Chimera explores the many identities of one body - how they emerge through physicalized experience, mental and emotional behavior, and embodiment and relationship. This dance work employs a rigorous physical language that combines specificity, wildness, intimacy, and exertion and centers on a duet between two men. Video design describes and illuminates the often unseen implications of how relationships reveal hidden aspects of one’s own identity. Chimera proposes that the outlines and boundaries of the self are mutable, permeable, and overlapped within the infinite undulating of context, environment, and relationship.
