ODC School presents Global Dance Passport, the culmination of the 2026 Fall Performance Workshops, featuring:

Contemporary Persian Dance with Natalie Nayun
Sundays, 2:30-3:45pm
September 13 - November 15, 2026

This workshop is open to dancers of all backgrounds, no Persian dance experience required. What we're building here is more than choreography. Each movement is rooted in the lyrics and story of the song, and woven through with your own personal stories as a dancer. You will leave with not just steps, but a deeper way of moving and connecting to yourself and to each other.

The piece is set to Soltane Ghalbha سلطان قلب‌ها,one of the most beloved songs not just in Iran but in many countries around Central Asia and the Middle East. The song is about the pull of love, the beloved, and the heart's inability to leave what it loves most.

Want a sense of what we'll be creating together? Here's a clip of dancers who learned part of this piece in a 2-day intensive — a beautiful mixed-level group

There will be choreography involved that will be tailored to the class. Some dance or movement experience is required. But feel free to pop in for the first class or two to see how you feel about what's going on. Remember you don't have to take your clothes off to do burlesque.
