Latin Dance Grooves

Elizabeth Soberanes has been dancing since 1985 and holds a bachelor's degree in Dance Ethnology from SFSU. She taught Rhythm & Motion’s Fusion Rhythms dance workout for 10 years. She is a graduate of the Performing Arts Workshop Artist-in-Residence Program and a student of Dunham Technique, modern, Hip Hop, Jazz, Haitian, Brazilian and Cuban dance forms. She has performed with several local dance companies and was crowned Queen of San Francisco Carnaval in 2001. She has traveled to Brazil and Cuba to study dance and participate in their Carnaval celebrations and regularly travels to New York and Miami to study a variety of Latin dance forms with master instructors. In 2008 she created the Latin Dance Grooves dance class as a way of sharing the art of Latin dance with the community, in a warm and welcoming environment.
