Contemporary - Advanced Beginning
Norma Fong began her dance training with ballet and classical Chinese folk dance. She holds a BFA in dance from California Institute of the Arts. Norma has had the opportunity to work with Pasadena Dance Theater, Shift>>> Physical Theater, Project B, Todd Eckert, Guangdong Modern Dance Company, Margaret Jenkins Dance Company, as a guest for ODC/Dance, and Robert Moses’ Kin, where she also served as the company’s rehearsal director. She has been awarded an Isadora Duncan Dance Award for her ensemble performance with Crystaldawn Bell in First Stab at Closure, choreographed by Todd Eckert. Norma is currently an Artist in Residence at Ruth Asawa San Francisco School of the Arts. She loves teaching Advanced Beginning Contemporary because it offers a chance to really dance and move through space, while simultaneously introducing basic technique. It is a wonderful blend of the essentials and creativity.
