Reiki Soundbath Workshop
Sunday, March 27 | 2 - 4 PM
Studio B, ODC Dance Commons
Allow your nervous system to relax and reset in this 2 hour reiki infused sound bath co-facilitated by Reiki Practitioner Sophie Leininger and Sound Healer Jeremy Mikush.
Reiki is an energy healing technique that supports the nervous system in finding balance, reducing stress and calming anxiety. Reiki practitioners use their hands to deliver universal life force energy, either through direct contact or at a distance, improving the flow and balance of your body’s own energy to support healing. Reiki was developed by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900s, deriving the term from the Japanese words rei, meaning “universal,” and ki, which refers to the vital life force energy that flows through all living things.
Sound healing is both an ancient tradition known by our ancestors, and a healing science of the future based on the interaction of our atomic (physical body) and subatomic (quantum/energetic) systems. Sound healers use their voices and/or instrumentals in both intuitive ways and with studied knowledge of sound acoustically to create a space for deep inner work that is held by and through sound.
Paired together, sound vibrations elevate and enhance the healing benefits of reiki and healing of the subtle energy body. In this 2 hour workshop, participants will learn more about sound healing and reiki as well as experience both first hand while lying on the floor. There will be an opportunity for journaling and reflection, as well as both collective and individual support. We encourage you to bring your own yoga mat or blanket to lay on, wear comfortable loose clothing, bring any crystals or special objects you work with, and a journal or sketchbook and something to write with.
Proof of full vaccination (with booster, if eligible) and masks are required for all in-person events. Learn more at odc.dance/reopening.
