PLEASURE THROUGH THE LENS OF BIOMECHANICS
In Europe, the acclaimed SAFE® training is known an “impactive and transformative experience”. Created and taught by French dancer choreographer Alexandre Munz, class begins with the innovative SAFE® Floor movements, a powerful stimulant for the spine and the central nervous system, a multi-awarded therapeutical approach extremely successful among dancers and athletes at the highest level. Through the use of simple rotatory and circular actions, dancers trigger on neuromuscular reflexes that reveal a capacity to profoundly regenerate from inside. Then class moves to SAFE® Move, an organic calligraphy materialized in physiological movements, finesse made accessible to all.
Trained at the Paris Opera Ballet School, Alexandre Munz further became one of the Principal Soloists of the Berlin Opera Ballet ; many renowned international choreographers created roles for him. After experiencing chronic injuries along his career, he decided to stop compromising his body. Alexandre was compelled to seek knowledge and gain an understanding of tridimensional body functioning. The positive impacts on his own body were so rapid and profound as a result of his research that he formalized a new pedagogical approach branded under the name S.A.F.E. (Spine Advanced Functional Empowerment). Today SAFE® Floor, SAFE® Barre and SAFE® Move are tools useful to ballet companies, French Olympic athletes, the general public alike. Few weeks ago Alexandre Munz moved to San Francisco, those are his first contemporary classes in town. www.maisonmunz.com
